The City of Anadyr is the administrative Center of Chukotka Autonomous Okrug, in the extreme north-eastern region of Russia.
The City is rich in Natural Resources and is one of the Top 10 Richest Regions in Russia by GDP Per Capita but due to its remote location, Food Prices are much higher compared to other regions of the Russian Federation.

The winter 4x4 expedition to Yakutia (the Sakha Republic, Russia), one of the coldest place on the globe. Four cars (three Nissan Patrols and Toyota FJ Cruiser) and seven men. This is the first day of the expedition that was started on February 24th, 2011. Getting cars off the railway containers near Neryungri (the second largest town in the Sakha Republic).
Days 2 & 3. Second and third days. The path from Neryungri (the second largest town in the Sakha Republic) to Yakutsk (the capital of the Sakha Republic).

Traxxas Slash on snow with Skis
Chad modified his Traxxas Slash by adding Dubro Snowbird Skiis (black also available). The included hardware makes it easy to gear the skis up on the existing steering axle using the collar. To prevent the skis from pitching into the snow, Chad added Team Associated 1/4 ounce stick-on weights to the back of each ski.
The video shows two tire types, the first segment the truck was equipped with HPI Mud Thrasher monster truck tires. Their large diameter and wide track gave the truck a snow-shoe effect and seem to work well.
Later in the video the tires were swapped out for Pro-line SandPaws which provided much more forward traction, but the smaller footprint and paddles seemed to dig down much faster and getting stuck was easier.
The snow is very wet and heavy in this video. Better performance will be seen in harder packed and drier snow.

Two drivers and a videographer will pilot their Toyota and Adventure Trailer up the frozen Mackenzie River Delta and out on to the Arctic Ocean and lands end.

Excellent job, and a well-filmed documentary. Chris and Scott are great embassadors. Their attention to history, the environment, and local customs is refreshing. The had a chemistry that made watching interesting.
